Hear ye, hear ye!

After many, many conversations at SEMA 2013, in Las Vegas, I was told by many people, both men and women, that they LOVE what I do. They also told me that I should put some time and effort into showing women that working on your own car is an excellent life skill and that they should not be intimidated by their own vehicle.

That being said, I am starting a new side project where I will be making WEEKLY YouTube videos showing the ladies what exactly their car is, how to do basic maintenance and why it's so important! I am very excited to be doing this project and I hope many people (both men and women) can use any of the information I give them in every day life!

I hope to have the site up & running this week and my first video before Thanksgiving next week ... that is ... once I think of a name!

Who Doesn't Love New Stuff?!

I hope everyone enjoyed my tailight tinting tutorial :) I love my new dark tailights! 

I have some new stuff to share with all of you guys! 

1 - I'm competing in the Big St Charles Calendar Girl Search again. It's been two years since I've done something of this magnitude and the last time, I won January. I'm hoping to win a month this time around.

Tinting Tailights

I haven't updated in awhile so I decided to make this since I get so many people ask me how I tint tailights! So enjoy :) 

What you need: Windex (to clean the tailights), NiteShade (you can get it at O'Rielly's, it cost about $10/can), painter's tape (I had none so I used white electrical tape), a razor blade and "gentle" sand paper (I used 1500 grit Wetordry Sand Paper)

Unscrew your tailight assembly ... two bolts, one on top and the other on bottom. On my Silverado, it was a Phillips head.

Disconnect the wiring harness.

Clean off your tailights. I also washed my truck before I did this.

I like to keep my reverse lights white so I taped them off. Some people do, some people don't, all up to you

Both lights taped off.

Gently, scuff up the lights in a circular motion with the 1500 grit sandpaper. Don't miss any spots.

Both sanded.

Clean all the sanded fluff off. 

Ready to spray. After sanding and being cleaned, they should look hazy.

First three coats of NiteShades ... spray in the left to right motion, don't stop anywhere or you'll pool and drip. Then it'll suck.

I did 8 coats. Sounds like a lot BUT with it not being opaque, it's really not that dark.

Peel your tape off the reverse part of the lights

Reinstall your lights and ...

BOOM. Sexy tailights on a non-sexy truck :)

THIRD TIME.

I was going to make a video addressing this but I decided against it to avoid coming off sounding pissed, lol. My Proform Parts videos are posted up on Streetfire.net regularly and apparently everyone wants to complain about how I look, my authenticity, ect. GET OVER IT!

I'm very obviously a girl, who wears makeup & nail polish. I honestly wasn't aware how many men cared about how I looked or what color my nail polish is. I say "men" because they are my only video commenters. You'd THINK that they would be wayyyy too busy slaving over their cars in the garage, but NOPE! Too busy trolling Streetfire. lol I wear makeup because I'm PAID to look good. Not only that, I like to look my best all the time (minus when I go to bed & when I wake up, obviously). If you want to see a broad who doesn't look her best and doesn't try, maybe go meander thru your house and see if your wifey is home ... OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH just kidding. But really, I give a crap how I look and if you don't like it, TOUGH. I'm not changing it ;)

So you don't think I know what I'm talking about? Awesome. Cool story bro. I spent three years in school to set in stone my future - which I've done - regardless of what you jerks want to believe :) Two years in Automotive, one year in High Performance Racing Technology (that one year was four nights a week, five hours a night ... two years squashed into one). I graduated both, HPRT with honors (Cum Laude), being the only girl in my class and STILL,  two years later, the ONLY girl thru HPRT. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. I'm a certified mechanic, certified race engine builder, certified chassis dyno operator, certified engine dyno operator, certified to use Sunnen machining equipment, certified to use a CNC, certified porter, certified computer tuner, certified carburator tuner ... basically - A CERTIFIED BADASS. So think what you'd like.

I'm making $$ doing what I love, so if that pisses you off, fantastic. New video material in that case.

This was my smart ass approach to what everyone claims to believe. Maybe now you'll understand.

Look at that, I'm strapping down an F150 to the chassis dyno to run a sim on it to see if I can't find out why it's losing timing and running like ass.

Boyfriend earned his degree in welding the same year. We both graduated Cum Laude of our class!
